Picture this, a beautiful summer evening, a light cool breeze blowing, a small outdoor area illuminated with string lights, relaxing music playing softly in the background, a simple and quaint candle lit table adorned with beautiful flowers with seating for just a few. This is exactly what I think of when I envision a summer evening garden party. Celebrating the beauty of nature and all that it has to offer. Believe it or not, it doesn’t take much to make this thought a reality, just a few simple steps is all it takes. First, decide how many people you want to invite, do you want a small or larger gathering? Then, decide where outside would work best. Next, hang up some string lights, this will create a beautiful ambiance which works really well when creating an evening garden party. For a table, using a collapsible or one that’s made for the outdoors is a great option, however using an indoor table will work just the same, it just may be a little more cumbersome to move outdoors. Adding a table covering will soften the look of the table, which works really well with the overall garden party theme. When it comes to decorating the table, first think about what you’ll be serving. Maybe some wine, cheese and crackers, some fruit, perhaps a charcuterie board. Whatever you decide, the goal is for it to be something tasty but simple. Next add your tableware, do you want a layered look? If so, start with plate chargers or place mats, this will give additional visual interest to the table, then add your dinnerware, flatware, glassware and napkins. After the table has been set, add some potted flowers on and around the table. This step is crucial because it really helps set the mood of the garden party theme. Add in to the mix some lighted faux candles for some extra ambiance and top it all off with some soft relaxing music. Now, the only thing left to do is to sit back, relax and enjoy your beautiful and relaxing summer evening garden party!
