Easter Ham Raisin Sauce

Deliciously sweet and tangy, this raisin sauce is the perfect pairing to your Easter ham. A family favorite passed down from generations, this recipe is special to our family when we make it every Easter and I hope it will be for yours too!

Cook: 20 min

Ingredients:

(You can half this recipe for a smaller serving)

  • ½ cup brown sugar (¼ cup)
  • ½ tbsp. dry mustard (¾ tsp.)
  • 1 tbsp. flour (½ tbsp.)
  • ½ cup raisins (¼ cup)
  • ¼ cup white distilled vinegar (2 tbsp.)
  • 1 ¾ cups water (¾ cup + 2 tbsp.)

Directions:

  1. Add dry ingredients (brown sugar, dry mustard and flour) to a small saucepan and mix using a whisk.
  2. Add vinegar and water and whisk well.
  3. Stir in raisins.
  4. Cook over medium/high heat uncovered until bubbly, then reduce heat to medium and continue cooking uncovered for 20 minutes stirring occasionally (it should be slightly thinner than the consistency of molasses).
  5. Serve immediately (you can reheat sauce in the microwave if needed).
