This delicious and easy to make ham glaze is sure to be a favorite. The combination of sweet raspberries and orange citrus pairs perfectly to create a uniquely flavorful experience.
Prep Time: 5 minutes Cook Time: 10 minutes
Ingredients: *Double recipe depending on the size of ham or if you want extra.
- 6 oz. fresh raspberries
- ½ cup pulp free orange juice not from concentrate
- 1 tbsp. orange marmalade fruit spread (I used Smucker’s Natural)
- 1 tsp. granulated sugar (more or less to taste)
- small saucepan with lid
- fine mesh colander
- small bowl
- fork or hand held masher
- spoon
Directions:
- Add orange juice and raspberries to a small saucepan.
- Over medium heat bring to a soft boil, reduce heat, cover and simmer for 1 minute.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and mash up the raspberries using a hand held masher or fork.
- Place a bowl underneath the fine mesh colander and spoon the raspberry pulp mixture into the colander.
- Using the spoon, continue to stir the pulp around in the colander until the juice has dripped down into the bowl.
- Discard the pulp mixture.
- Pour the raspberry juice back into the small saucepan and add in the orange marmalade and sugar. Stir to combine.
- Put the saucepan back on the burner and over medium heat stir frequently until the mixture is slightly bubbly and thickened.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and let cool slightly.
- After your ham is done baking, preheat the oven to 425 degrees.
- Spoon the raspberry glaze over the ham and cook uncovered for approximately 10 minutes or until sticky and set.
- Remove from the oven.
